Gladiator Game Reviews Will Be Coming Soon!

Salve!

I will soon begin my first series of game reviews and I have decided to initially focus on games that feature gladiators. Roman gladiators are one of my favorite subjects, so this seemed like a good place to start. I will be reviewing these games for the quality of their gameplay, narrative, art, and other elements as well as the historical accuracy and authenticity of their depictions of gladiators. Since it is thematically appropriate ‒ although not historically accurate ‒ these games will receive either a thumbs up or a thumbs down depending on their quality.

My first review will be for the following PS2 games: Colosseum: Road to Freedom, Gladiator: Sword of Vengeance, Gladius, and Shadow of Rome. Since all these games came out between 2003 and 2005 on the same console, I will be comparing them in one review. Afterwards, I would like to move on to more recent games, like Domina and Gladiator School, both of which were recently released on Steam.

If you have a suggestion for a gladiator-adjacent game I should take a look at, please let me know!

Vale!
